S1 V6 sei 1992 - 'The Project' - now sold!

Many thanks for the interest chaps and although the reg. is nothing special I understand that the last three letters were the previous owners initials. As the number is a bit confusing and suggests the car is earlier I would ideally like to restore to a 'K' plate and especially given there is no log book and I do know the original identity! I managed to do a few small jobs today that included replacing missing wheel nuts and a boot strut and changing the steering wheel to something nicer. Later this week I hope to get the car off the ground for a proper inspection, although from what I have seen the sump looks intact with no other obvious damage. Regards, Matthew T.

Though, being a K reg, incidentally, she is identical to my K reg V6 SEi, Is that the really hard leather fitted??

Mine had it, and I swapped it for earlyer softer sinkin stuff out of a J reg. I really disliked the K reg Leather... it was too hard.

Many thanks Paul and I did think of your green car being a matching pair! The leather in the car is fairly firm, although I have the soft leather in my rhd 24v which is very nice as you say! As a later 12v there is also the interior wood trim, adjustable armrest and cruise control of course. With regards, Matthew T.

The electric arm rest was always an sei fitmet I beleve.. but the colour coded side moulds cruise control and twin spoke wheel (which has been removed) also signify the bolted earths and there should also be an rds clarion radio black fronted with optional cd changer if fitted.. all signify the s1.5 upgrades!

The very first sei 1989-90 did not have the electric armrest Paul that seemed to have come in with the wood trim. Interestingly the 12v interior upgrade to 24v spec from 1991 originally did not originally include the colour coded exterior trim or sports alloy wheels, although the latter were an option. The black fronted radio is also slightly later still as neither my 'K' reg 2.0sei or this car have them! Regards, Matthew T.

Where do you get them from Matthew???!! I'm on about the leather single spoke.... I'd love one.

Early mk.1 v6 up to 1992 will have the single spoke. I got a single spoke leather but its my only one and im keeping it as a spare. . Ive seen single spoke leather wheel on ebay but im talking 3 years ago!

Ive got standard non leather single spoke wheels though..

I dont blame you for wanting to keep it Paul. I wonder though if its possible to get a normal one re-trimmed in leather???
I am being fussy, with a leather interior, you need a leather steering wheel, a plastic one wont do! .... Just have to keep the old peepers peeled.
