Tan-tastic color on an S2 XM -would look even better if side trims were body-coded.

If it was not an auto....it wouldn't be on ebay right now.

Not the best Xm blue but nice - that'd be mouseflake's Olympic Blue. Most of my 2.0i's seem to be
Mauritius Blue which is OK when clean. :P

Low mileage cars do exist but rarely in the trim/spec you're always hoping for. I'd heartily recommend a manual
2.0i TCT though. I've dabbled with s2's and would rather stay in s1/s1.5 mode actually - older cars don't rust as
much in my Xm'ing and with the original looks it's a decision made with no contest!!

Really, is that the case.? I've been erring towards S2 due to being newer and supposedly quieter and better built.

Now I'm confuzzled.

yeah, my experience is the same as Andrews, ok the S2's are slightly quieter as far as internal trim creeking goes but to my mind you get the propper interior, less rust and a more reliable hydraulic system due to only having one (cheap and easy to access) electrovalve with the option of putting the suspension into sports or auto where S2's effectively got two auto modes, the other things are S1's didnt get wind bags which i consider a plus which is personal preference, as is the exterior styling i guess.

S1.5 are also two modes of Auto for the Hydractive, same as S2.

Hmm..now you've made life difficult... :?

No all s1.5 retain the original simplified system with permenent sport or auto, it wast till the facelift that it got Hydractive 2 with two hydractive valves and two auto modes, then slightly later into early S2 manufacture they ditched the FDV valve and got the 6 2 pump and anti sink for most models, i think some estates didnt have anti sink for some reason.

It is a tough choice but i think it has to be a MK1 to be a propper XM, although this discusion has run and run since the XM forum first began and just as many will mock the MK1's spoiler and interior but its all what flavour appeals to you personaly, oh i will admit the MK1 and early mk2 Bendix abs is a little...........um...............stroppy at times.

I've had a S1 and S1.5 and am pretty sure that was a fundamental difference.

Maybe one of the very last sort of L reg cars got H2 i dont know then but ive never seen one, even the L plater George is going for is H1 still its all very confusing  , i think things became very blurred around that point so far as equipement goes, i know all MK1.5's got their own two spoke wheel for some strange reason.
