Any mint cars out there?
In the past week I've missed Brads car and John's silver one. Is there any Mint ones for sale at all at the moment?

Re: Any mint cars out there?
Good Question. Well based on my own opinion i think mine is good but how do you define mint?
2000 white
xm saloon
v6 exclusive auto
67k with full Citroen history from new as well as any other garage work.
1 owner
wheels have never been curbed or painted
carpets have never seen daylight due to not 1 but 2 mat overlays
2 keys
few minor problems like 3 windows not working and heater. But in the grand scheme of things who cares as I am sure for the price of 20 British pounds it was a extremely cheap car.
But question is what is mint and how much is mine worth

Re: Any mint cars out there?
Must be worth at least double the purchase price!
Pricing XMs is always difficult but it must come down to supply and demand. How on earth can 2cvs fetch the prices that they do? It can only be because more people want them than there are available cars.
It seems to me that XMs are in a similar position in the market to the BX, they have pretty much bottomed out for value and there are now more people finding them attractive, but (and this is important) they only want "good" ones. It seems to me, however, that no matter how "mint" an XM is when you buy it, it will cost quite a bit of money to keep in desirable condition.
I have been without an XM for about 5 months now; I tried an X Type Jag that was virtually "mint" at a bargain price and didn't like it - my brother in law now owns it and thinks it is wonderful. I now have C4 Exclusive - quite an unusual spec with 2 pedals, plenty of power, very low miles and loads of toys - but I'm really not keen to be honest. I have not had a Xantia but could be tempted by a V6, but really the XM is my ideal car (as long as it doesn't have a sun roof!).
For all of us looking for that elusive "minter", we just have to be in the right place at the right time with cash available, and be prepared to gamble.
And if nosmokenopoke really wants to sell he can drop me a line - I come down to Stroud quite regularly to visit my Mum!

Yeah I cant say I am a fan of any 2cv but I'm not blind to see that more people like old cars, as lets be fair they were made with pride years ago and things lasted but now cars are a throw away item just like a mobile phone and lets face it most modern cars are terrible. (garage owner) and i used terrible but its far worse. So old always equals better

I agree with the cost of up keep. Thing is anyone who owns something they love always finds the money they didn't have to keep it how they want it. A xm would beat most cars on the road for comfort these days too so well worth the extra pennies

I had a x type a few years ago and nice but not nice enough. I cant say I have driven many new Citroen's on the road rob. I have a garage but only trips up the road and back. I have a 2011 range rover sport tdv6 (French registered, no road tax )

Anyway sorry to go on but i owe that story to her husband. All my cars on my drive and I pick the xm key up everyday unless i am taking my dogs to work.
Yeah its always the right time the right place but we all know its rare when it comes.
I couldn't bring myself to sell it. Its a beautiful car Rob and I also said I would keep it to the last owner. So sorry Rob she going back in the garage to be stored once this weather turns bad.
You are welcome to see it anytime your next visiting Stroud Rob. Inbox me sometime and i could arrange something.
I appreciate your input
thank you
Jon

Nothing wrong with a sunroof provided it is watertight and works properly. Like mine!
