Breaking - 2.0 Turbo Onyx

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Hi Paul,

This XM does have ABS, I don't know if the sensors will work though. Is there a handy way to test them?

Regards

Hi Robert,

Turbo and manifold were picked up thursday afternoon.. you should get it this week I guess if not already..

You can test the sensors with an Ohm Meter, either DIRECTLY at the ECU or by unplugging them on the subframe

They should ready ABOUT 1068ohms...

Hi Folks,

With the time off over the holidays, I have finally completed dismantling the old Onyx.

There isn't much left on it.

Robert

FANTASTIC work Robert!

You strip a car as well as me!! Can you remove the rear arms CPMPLETE WITH abs sensors for me?? They are surprisingly light on the XM being Alloys and almost hollow..

If the rear sensors are working ones Id be extreamilly interested as before mentioned..

Hi Paul,

Only the Off Side rear ABS sensors is working, and it also happens that both rear sensors aren't working on my 2.5 TD. They are both Bendix cars, so I might use this sensor. I hope I can avoid having to change the trailing arm, but we will see, it might be easier to do that.

Are there any other readily available compatible sensors for other cars that can be used to replace these with? I remember reading that a VAG sensor can be used to replace a Teves.

Peter N changed a trailing arm to get a working sensor, how bad a job was that Peter? I have changed the rear arm bearings on a CX and BX before, the BX was a breeze compared to the CX. But I would like to avoid having to change the sensor.

The pain in the arse things is the way the anti roll bar is bolted to the ARM lengthwise, with the nuts inside the arm.. Ive heard that the nut can come away frm its house inside the arm, then your buggered unless you cut the head off the nut...

No problem Robert, if you need Bendix sensors, then so be it.. no a problem..

This ABS action is a pain. I have been lucky to be XMing for 2 1/2 years and have no ABS problems until now.
