XM 2.1TD Exclusive For Sale

Good morning forum members.
The time has come for my father to sell his beloved XM Exclusive. Unfortunately due to back problems and his knees starting to give up he's finding it too difficult to get into the car each morning when the vehicle is in its lowered state.
He's not technically savy so he's asked me to help with the sale of the XM and after spending a good few hours reading various posts in this forum it's clear that this would be a great place to start chatting and maybe finding a buyer?
Some details of the car:
Registered in 1995 the car has only 2 previous owners, the second owner being my father. He bought the car from the owner of a specialist Citroen garage in Stafford (Chevron). My father has owned the car for the past 15 years and its been his pride and joy. The book of receipts from work carried out and servicing is quite extensive, the car has wanted for nothing. Its been looked after by Chevron motors based in Stafford for all its work, they have a team there who specialised in XM's so it's definitely been in the right hands. I know my father has spent thousands over the years as he's quite OCD when it comes to the car "Being right"
Current mileage is about 130,000 made up of commuting to work and also long journeys to see family.
About 5 years ago at around 105,000 a new head was fitted and all other associated work that needed to be done.
The car is black and in great condition.
I currently live in Somerset and I've asked my father to give me more details about the car which is Located in Stafford.
We know of only 2 faults: theres a small clip which is missing from the sunroof. The sunroof still opens and closes and it doesn't leak either.
the other fault is sometimes the speedo sticks at 60mph but a quick tap of the plastic window and it drops back to the right speed. I'm sure enthusiasts like yourselves have seen these issues before and would be able to fix them.
I wish I had a copy of all the receipts with me to give more details of any major work that was carried out but I'm still waiting on my father to write an email..... it could be some time!!
With regards to a valuation I've looked in past posts on this forum and also the dreaded eBay as well as another classic car website, The figure I had in mind was between £2.5 -3K can somebody tell me if I'm in the right ball park?
I'm happy to answer answer any questions but it might take a day to respond as I'll have to ask my father to dig through any invoices and get back to me.
My apologies in advance if I come across as another one of those folks that joins a specialist forum to get a valuation...... I just don't want my father getting conned out of his pride and joy. It's a sad time for him letting this lovely car go so finding an owner who's going to look after it also makes this a little easier.
I look forward to any responses and I'll be as helpful as I can with your questions.
Joe.
