The car is sitting on Preston Street, Kirkam. See Google Image in post No1.

It is a '93 2.0Si Auto, 98k miles...in white.

From what I understand it is well with saving, just needs re-commissioning.

Contact via this forum, or a knock on the house door. I don't have contact details, but have had a conversation with the elderly gentleman owner, and then Andrea. A local contact informed me it looks in good condition. interestingly, that was when he told me he once had an XM... so should be a reasonable judge.

The list of work given above is a short list and nothing compared to most SORN XM.

On the face of it, less work than I'm probably looking at on my diesel. I've just asked Andrea when it was last started. How well do those auto boxes take to years of standing? The logistics may well be insurmountable but I am tempted. I do like them in white!

LG.

If it has oil in (which it will) it will be fine, just do a few oil changes when you get it as you would with normal recommissioning.

Here we are. The pics are lost on a defunk hard drive but I've managed to find the old memory card;

They don't reveal a great deal, other than the N/S looks OK, should look nice after a good clean and that it needs a N/S dorr mirror.

Apparently it looks better since it's been washed last friday.

Those jacking points and sills look in fantastic condition, a very easy restoration. An auto box won't be affected by standing.

White XM always look great, but also white paint protects the body better, being the hardest paint.

Any S1, other than a base model is head and shoulders above a Series 2, barring a V6 Exclusive.

Mrs DM, just saw the pictures and said "is that for sale?"... Apparently, I would need to sell my Cobalt one first...

Hi

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you

The car is located as pictured on a private drive which is on the main road through Kirkham. It is hard standing.
It needs the items listed in my original post to be startable/driveable.
The car is a K Reg and 2 litre
It is an automatic
It 5 door hatchback.

The photos I can take won't be much different to the google map and I work during daylight hours.

The transmission should not be greatly affected by standing. Twice I have resurrected cars with automatic transmissions that sat unused for 15 years, and they had no issues. The governor seals may fail, but that happens whether used or not.

Good Evening

As we need to make space, we will be offering the car on other platforms in the next week. We are happy to give enthusiasts the first opportunity and would prefer that the car find a place it will be enjoyed however we do need the space.

Thank you Diesel Man for letting us know about the forum
