Hi Folks,

Unfortunately the time has come to let my 2.0 16v XM go. It has been off the road for just under a year now when the auto (4 HP 18) box started acting up badly, renerding the car near enough undriveable on the road. I have spent considerable money on this car, and would hate to see it bought for parts. I have had he chassis and subframes wax oiled etc. I will be listing it on ebay this evening.

What sort of playing up was she dooing to try and understand??

The gear changing isn't smooth. I think the bands have disintegrated / been damaged. It stalls when trying to pull away from stationary.

That sounds like the torque converter is locking instead of slipping.
