Mk1 V6 24V or is it?

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

What is the confusion? It appears real enough.

If I hadn't already got one in progress, I'd have a look at that and consider a RHD conversion, forsaking the DIRAVI.

No sunroof...and curiously, no VIN plate on the bonnet landing panel. That shouldn't present a problem as long as the body stamped VIN is legible...otherwise it will be difficult to register it.

I'd want to know the VIN and Rp numbers pretty soon. If it's not got the modified engine it will be expensive to put right and has been lucky to get this far.

I think Russ is referring to the absence of body colour trim Will that is indeed unusual. Perhaps it was a special order or otherwise had a transplant! It could have the later engine with any luck being a 1992 car. With regards, Matthew T.

Ah, yes, I missed that. I did note the seller stated it would come with the original wheels...which as it has V6-24 wheels fitted made me wonder.

Russ, I believe you are correct, it's not a v6-24, and probably not even SE trim as built. In France you could order a wide range of spec and options, so a basic car could have a V6 and air-con if desired.

Possibly a bit of a miss mash.

I'd rather stick with RHD for UK motoring and although DIRAVI is a nice touch, it is lower geared than regular steering. It needs to be more like the SM with only 2 turns lock to lock to give the Go-kart feel.

There's nothing wrong with XM steering in regular format.

Exactly Matthew. Plus it has a mk2 steering wheel. All quite odd.

That is interesting Will. Who knows.

I was wondering if it was a French authorities car ... i.e. Bit like the KGB or American police, basic looking cars to keep them inconspicuous, but with big engines for chasing. I doubt it though. Most likely an intriguing anomaly.

If all in good condition (bodywork, underside...) then quite some car for the money.
Same registration date as ours, but with 50% more mileage.
Silver wouldn't be my first choice of colour.
Interesting to see that ad, as I was asked a week ago what ours was worth.

That thought did also cross my mind Russ and perhaps the 'original wheels' are steelies with bowling ball trims!! The wobbly webs are more likely I guess and usual with the black trim!

Yes I agree Will, but also nothing special, unlike Diravi!!
