Urgent request, The through bolt for the alternator

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Found that, and saved your drawing.
You need M10 for the idler.....What is the thread on the other end of the bolt? M10 maybe?
If so, a length of M10 studding would do the job, with a nut parked near the LH end, to tighten on to the alternator.
You might have to sleeve the bit where the shoulder is.

I'm still unable to load any image here too.
Have PM'd Ciaran (Admin) about the problem.

I would estimate the lenghth of the bolt to be 14 - 15.5 cm, 5 - 5.5"

Thanks, that's a good thought, I'll take the bolt out over the weekend, as it happens I've got a length of HT 10mm studding left over from another job.....blue skies? Hope so!

Fingers crossed.
If all else fails, if you provide me with an accurately dimensioned drawing of the bolt (and thread details), I can make one up for you.

Thanks for planting the seed, I think the studding should be the answer, I'll see when I get it off on Sunday.
Thanks again.

Yes the studding which I already had did the trick, when I took the bolt out the end that screws into the alternator lug was also M10 so there was no problem.
Thanks again White Exec for the idea.
