Wiper stalk

My wiper stalk isn't in great condition (2.1TD Mk2 1994), and is the one with a sliding adjuster to adjust wiping frequency on intermittent mode.
I've seen a new replacement on the bay quite cheap but it's a different design and does not have the slider, though it is advertised as being for a Mk2.
Are both types compatible? I've read something about multiplexing/non-multiplexing?
I'm still looking for a non electric armrest without broken hinge, velour - Will, you said you might have one, but is the velour material the same (I still need to visit Greg Bibby, so he might have)?
Also need a window motor N/S front.
