Zf 4hp18 box or parts

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Zf 4hp18 box or parts

Post by citroenxm » Sun Sep 30, 2018 4:37 pm

OK. So.. We have or first box failure. A 4hp 18 on an Xm td. So firstly I'm on the lookout for either a working box but cheap.. Or a governer and valve block.. Although I realise we can get a seal kit.. But I need to do a fairly quick fix.. But ha.. What's one of those.

The issue is.. Drive OK when cold.. But alas none when hot only reverse. There is a topic on this on here already but alas its not been followed up and concluded annoyingly..
Projects:(eventually if theres any bodywork left)

I was sorry to hear about the HP18 issues Paul which are all too familiar and I would start with the governor seals! After saying that when my governors seals went I only lost reverse when cold. The governor is certainly an easier check than pulling the valve block. With regards, Matthew T.

Paul - I have a 'box from a 2.1td - from that norfolk car that i ended up breaking a few years back. If I recall correctly the gearbox had received some attention from the previous owner. So it should be okay but i never drove it more than a couple of hundred yards. It's free, but in essex though! PM me if interested.
