As title posting spotted on E-BAY but its another SLUGOMATIC what a shame as it was one of the 'Posh' S1.5 with the colour coded bumpers/mirrors/wing corner caps/windscreen scuttle, but its got a failed auto-box what a surprise

Was this the one /\ Mike ?

I see there's a dead auto popped up on Ebay, just to add fuel to the fire !

So Manual's DO seem to be more RELIABLE as I've refrained from putting my views in that THREAD
Why was that thread started in the Technical/Diesel (For the oil burner's) section of the forum,
"Transmission, drive-train & running gear" would have been more appropriate IMHO .
Unless the question/post should have been which DIESEL XM 'Manual or Auto' is more reliable

I think most can decipher (From my posts) what I like and what I don't (a bit like MARMITE)

Stick a 2.1 and manual box in it! Considering you're going to be hard pressed to find a manual 2.1, you might have to go about making your own!!

This one really cought my eye and for the sake of a weekend or two maximum hard graft straightening the auto box out it would have been a nice car, wasnt me by the way it was miles away and trailering the thing back with the ferry it would have started to get expensive, shame as like you say it is the model to have.
