Wanted - ES94 V6 Exhaust

Gents,

I've decided that this year is going to be the year that my XM starts to clock up some more miles.

I'm in need of an exhaust but don't want to spend £1500 on one. Does anyone have one or know of anyone who has one that they want to part with?

David.

Good luck finding a NOS exhaust... Mine is still good for a few years, but if you find a good deal on a stainless system, I may be interested.

I think Matt here found a good maker/supplier of s/s exhaust for V6.

Yes I would try P.D. Gough in Nottingham David and they did me two very nice PRV systems. This is certainly the year to use your XM with both the 100th and 30th celebrations! With regards, Matthew T.

Hi
I've had a 'straight through' stainless steel one made. It is certainly louder than the standard one and I'm considering having a further intermediate 'cross box' put back in. By the way it was a lot lot cheaper than Gough. Infinity Exhausts outside Bristol.
I'll take a photo at the weekend.

P.D. Gough isn't cheap, but probably the best to be had. The systems I've had from them over the years have been as solid and as silent as the originals. They regularly use one grade (304, Austenitic) of stainless throughout the system, for pipe, boxes, internals, brackets and welds. Some of their V6 and V8 downpipes are built double-walled, for quietness.
Plenty of others out there as well, but be cautious about some of the very shiny/chromy systems, some of which can sound tinny.

PD Gough have a template already to make a Stainless Steel one very easily but they're quoting as near as dammit £1500 including delivery which I'm not convinced I'm prepared to spend on it. Worst case I'll just put another patch on mine, failing that I'll hit up some exhaust companies locally.

David.

I paid around £800 for two PRV systems less the cats and rear boxes although admittedly in mild steel and I did also collect. The workmanship was fabulous and the boxes are made from scratch. Regards, Matthew T.

My experience of P.D. Gough is that they are not straightforward to deal with and the price escallates (doubled) beyond that quoted for no reason.

I found a local 'chain' exhaust supplier that did a good job for 25% of the price Gough's finally wanted.
