Things needed for my recently acquired S2

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Things needed for my recently acquired S2

Post by Saraphi » Tue Feb 26, 2019 8:07 am

Just started to check over the new arrival and these seem to be the most obvious parts for replacement:-

Door Cards Front, both Left & Right. Appearance not important but sound construction please.
Face Plate – Part No. 8212 AC
Trap Assembly , both Left & Right – Part No. 7414 c8 – But I’d call ’em Tow Eye Covers!
Wheel Centres, Two Please – to fit Star, Etoile, Monte Carlo type 15” wheels
Air Vent, Rear Passenger Door Frame - Part No. 95 640 602 XX
Handbook for 1995 – Part No. XM-GB-5005
Brake Pedal Rubber – for an Automatic

I’ll probably be asking for more as the work on bringing her up to scratch commences.
I’m some distance away but have a UK delivery address so no worries there.
Feel free to contact me just as soon as you like
Thanks
Rex

Towing eye covers are a bit rare in the UK too. I have some, but not letting any go unless we can do something like a 3D print copy...

Can help with the Air Vent for the Centre pillar. UNLESS they are different to S1 Y3 cars..

Whats a Face Plate?

Rex,
Brake pedal rubber (for an automatic) is actually the Brake Pedal Switch, pt.no. 4534.23, and still available new from Citroen.
Part fitted to Xan I & II, XM I & II.
It incorporates the set of break contacts for cruise control, if fitted, as well as the make contacts for brake lights.
It simply bolts on to the brake pedal (a nut underneath).

The only reason I want to change the rubber s that it seems someone has been using it as a foot rest or pressing down at an odd angle, the top is worn through to the metal!
Towing eyes should be produced in at least double the manufacturers most optimistic (or pessimistic, depending on how you look at it) estimates they always seem to be in short supply. Thx for the offer citroenxm, I am awaiting a stock check on the TECs and would like to come back to you on the thoughts of 3D printing if that is not successful.

Is good short-run 3D printing something you might have access to in Thailand, Rex?
Sounds as if there is a lot of self-sufficient local manufacture where you are.
The tow-eye covers have been often discussed here as a possible candidate.

Don't know much about 3d printing but I do know it's around.
The latest technology I've got involved with here is laser printing - just trialing a club keyring 50x30x2mm Stainless at £2.50 approx including individualised identification
