wanted, rear suspension cylinder and gaiter

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

All estates use the same size rear cylinders, 42.5mm.
Mk 1 cars have 35mm rear cylinders.
Mk 2 cars have 37mm rear cylinders.

The "R" clip that fixes the front of the cylinder to the arm is a real pig to remove if it has been in place for years.
If it will not pull out access to cut it off and drive it out is virtually nil.
Not seen any new Gaiters from any source for years now.

I all ready got the cylinder out, the pin was no problem at all, just a bit of leverage and it came out. there is 1 gaiter on e-bay but they are asking to much for it.

That boot is for a Mk 2 rear cylinder not an estate.
Be interested to know if it can be stretched to fit.

The part number on the French site (95 549 188) is shown on Cit parts for mk2 saloon.

For mk1, Cit list
5484368 for saloon, NFP
5461864 for estate, NFP

I think what makes the difference is the rod that sit in the ram piston and is connected to the gaiter.

No, it is the diameter of the cylinder tube of which there are the three different sizes.
