These are the rubber buffers that control the forward and backward movement of the engine when in motion .
They are fitted at the lower forward and upper back positions of the engine . I could get away with just the
upper back buffer but would prefer both . I have some parts that I could trade if necessary .

Could you please take a photo of how they look and location, i have a jerky movemebt too and sont lnow if they are the culprit

I have inspected the R H engine mount very closely , and can find no splits or tears in the rubber . With the torque buffers removed the engine
can be gently rocked , and always returns to the same position , which was set by citroen in 1994 . The mount bolt has never been removed .
John , it is clear to me that you do not properly understand the combined relationship between the torque buffers and the engine mount .
Rather than me explaining this to you , I suggest that you consult valued colleagues on this matter .

I have owned and looked after my 2.5 for the last 18 years , and do a lot of the work myself , but also use specialists such as pleiades at times .
I do not understand many issues on the car but on the matter of the torque buffers I am sure of . Any one can make a mistake John me included .
To those following this conversation I would urge you not to dwell on the matter above , but to respect my needs for these parts , and to let me
know if you have any to sell . The damaged buffer in my car which acts as a rising rate spring , has lost its stiffness and collapses too early , thus
causing all the problems .

I would think that any diesel Xm is well past needing new engine mounts by now. One might be surprised by the difference new mounts make to engine noise and vibration transfer into the passenger cabin.
From experience the ones on my previous Mercedes lasted about 80,000 miles before needing replacement.

At last , a light at the end of the tunnel , thank you xmforever , and thank you chris for your input too . The Citroen 1995 year update book
explains the engine mounting system in 5 pages translated badly from the french , but does not reveal how it is set up . The engine mount is
the first resistance to movement . When the engine produces torque through the transmission the engine moves forward and compresses the
front buffer adding to the resistance . When the compression reaches 4mm the rear buffer having moved 4mm forward across the gap in its
cage adds further resistance . For braking the system is the same but the rear buffer leads the front . I first started to understand the system
when I replaced the belts some years ago . And thank you john for your input which was pertinent to the problem . I was trying to be diplomatic
in my comments , but as a newby , I obviously failed . By all means edit them out .sorry .
