sunroof seal

Hi after sunroof seal or even complete sunroof anybody know if anyone stocks them or what other cars they fit my car is xm2 2.0 petrol 16v but assume all sunroofs the same for xm

Not easy, it seems. Done a bit of searching...

SFAIK all XMs for the UK got the same sunroof. Cars without a rarity in UK.
Original part is 8402 28, but now NFP.
Fitted to XM and XM-II, but also to Pug 405 and 605.

Looked at Heritage

but not listed there.
They do have:
8402 58 Item not found on Citroen Parts (servicebox), but under Peugeot Parts, shown fitted to Pug 206, and part shown as still available.
8402 48 Not found on CP, but PP shows it for Pug 406, but NFP.
8402 46 Not found on CP, but PP shows it for Pug 406, but NFP.

Not sure whether any of those three above might fit, or be the right profile.
Someone here may know.

I assume you have a leak then or has the seal been damaged? My experience is that sunroof seals are never water tight hence the drains. My current XM was leaking past the seal and then between spot welded sections at the front of the screen frame. Result was water collecting in the overhead light unit until car movement released it! Sealant applied and problem gone. Other cars have been blocked drains.

Good many posts here about blocked roof drains, and how to clear them - and need to avoid forcible "rodding", which can disconnect drain tubes.

The roof seal can compact with age, and allow the roof panel to become a loose fit, which can allow rattle/wind noise, as well as (increased) leakage. Replaced the one here a few years ago, when the replacement seals were available, at around the €40 mark.

The dealer might still be able to obtain one from stocks, so worth trying.
The sunroof is pretty typical and is made by Webasto, so any sunroof parts dealer may be able to supply.
I doubt a new glass seal will stop a leak. As said, water drains down past the seal into the tray, then away from there down drains.
Due to the cable drive motor being mounted underneath, when the sealant on the pressed sections fails, water leaks in.
The only way to stop this is a complete strip down of the sunroof unit and re-seal it.

Check first for radio aerial water leakage.
This bypasses the sunroof water tray and leak off pipes.
Then check the leak pipes as these are push fit and can drop off.
Attempted clearing by air line or flexy rod often causes more trouble than it solves.

Thanks everyone im in contact with some sunroof repairs in bristol they are going to send some profiles up to see if i can get a near match inthe mean time cuting out rust and repairing
