Would anybody have a useable glovebox strut for sale or know of a suitable alternative?

For that, better find one local shop that has or specialises on gas struts, get yours out and ask for one EXACTLY like yours. Very important to make sure you don't get one with more force as it may damage the glovebox. It's the fastest and safest route.
