Xantia 2001 for swap/sale - not XM, but maybe someone know someone, who may know someone :)

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

A short length of rubber (electrical) sleeving slid over the knurled rod-end can be sufficient to provide grip between a broken clip and the rod.

Chinese items.
Aliexpress - search for Citroen Beverly parts - suppliers: BAIFICAR Auto007 store (£7.19 for 4) and CHINA GZXP (£5.95 for 4).
Think they are the same item made by a firm called STARPAD.
Those prices are post paid to the UK so you can see why I gave up on repairing.
Metal screw lock version is the same price as standard Citroen copy item.
Do not buy from China in quantities costing more than £15 including postage as Customs can then charge VAT plus a £8 Royal Mail handling fee.

Thanks very much for the info, keen to find ones that are easy to get on and off and don't wear out so much. I'll have a look.

Prem

All Xm's have four identical lock buttons on all doors.
It is just that Mk 1 and Mk 2 XM lock buttons are just different enough in appearance and size for them to be swapped.
The Chinese copies only fit Mk 2 XM's.

Lee
The Chinese ones are still a bit fiddly to fit but do not wear out or fall to bits from reuse.

I am at a total loss to understand why the Chinese refer to Citroen Beverly.

I'm so glad the XM wasn't named the Beverly. XM just sounds so good. I'm probably biased.

They are the ones. They suit S2 door knobs, but are too long for S1.

To fit the knob insert the grip so it latches in the bottom hole, then push the knob all the way down until it stops.
The grip should have gripped the rod and moved upto the top hole.
This should set the height of the knob correct.

To remove the knob, pull up then insert a small blunt screwdriver and push the latching peg from the top hole down to the bottom hole.
This will release the grip and the knob can be lifted off.

With a bit of fantasy the Beverly shares some characteristics with Citroen, the Traction Avant!
A larger image of the Cord would be nice :D
