Accessing the old forum (club-xm.com)

Post by SteveLP » Thu Feb 25, 2010 3:23 pm

I just thought that maybe a quick pointer back to the old forum would be OK.
There are some new members who were not around when the old forum was active.
There were over 30,000 posts to 'club-xm.com' and so there is a great deal of information stored there which we can still access.
The forum and the search facility are no longer active due (I understand) to database corruption. Luckily we can still access (and print) the posts and threads.

The main 'jumping-in' points are:

XM Issues: http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=1
Petrol Specific: http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=2
Diesel Specific: http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=3
Hydraulic: http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=4
Electrical: http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=14
3.0L V6 24V
and 2.5TD: http://club-xm.com/forum2/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=17

To jump to the other pages just select them from the 'links' menu at the bottom of each screen.

Thanks Steve

Some of us have still got links to old threads and use these to gain access, but probably not the newer members, so useful.

The 'How To Access' thro' the back door to the (Club-xm.com) has alway's been available on this forum but maybe needs a 'BUMP' now and again for the new members on here !

:D

Can it not be made "sticky" so it doesn't fall into oblivion again.

Hi Robert,

That will be a first !

Just like all the others we've requested (After trawling collating all the info on a plate for others) the ones for ABS, Suspension electro-valve protection diodes to the ECU, Driver 9 pin door regulator failure/repair, doseur valve, door lock/barrel seized, A/C Panel heater/blower faults, Crankshaft Pulley Damper, Idler/tensioner arm failure/repair (With Serpentine belt) etc. (Is that enough for now) ?

But there is the 'SEARCH FACILITY' which some members don't seem to bother about :?:

But just hope the regular in-putters to give them the info on a plate (Which takes up too much time, when most of the time its already there in this or the other/old Forum) if we can search/find the info, any one can :!:

Like me, you mean.....

Search facilities are ok, but can stifle new posts, which in itself can be a bad thing for a forum. I think with a new forum it's better to have more posts to keep things flowing. No good being too quiet.....(tumbelweed.....)

Could do with more 'How to' and 'project' though guys. We need pictures.... ;)
