Robert; you can't half wash the laundry in public - now you've started I'm even more intrigued...

No idea what this is all about. Perhaps because I just don't peruse certain threads Image

What was that all about then...

Andrew
You didn't miss much.

Some loser decided to join the forum to have a go at David for selling his C6.
He then proceeded to get more abusive with each subsequent post. No real point to it, other than to be offensive.
Then for some reason he decided to have a go at Robert (robert_e_smart) with an extremely offensive - and totally unprovoked - email.
I don't know what happened after that, but the relevant posts have now been removed.

In the three years since I joined the old forum and eighteen months on this forum, it's the first time I've ever seen anything like this.
I really hope that we don't end up with a strictly moderated forum (like so many others).
One of the best things about club-xm is the relaxed atmosphere and freedom from moderators.

Let's keep it the best forum on the web :D .

Huh...I must've missed that bit..though even the original posts were a bit surreal....I thought Bugger Me, is this Twin Peaks or something..

Thanks for clearing that up Paul, I did wonder. I just can't imagine anyone I've read and
contributed with over the past few years doing such a thing. Poor David/Robert. :(

I did wonder however if it was the guy that became agitated about 'our' searching but innocent
questions about an Xm with no hydraulics fitted (from new? :?) he wanted to give away or
scrap a short while ago...

I believe this forum and it's predecessor are by far and away the best place to meet and
enjoy intelligent comm's about these great Citroens that unites a collective enthusiasm,
interest and more importantly knowledge!

We'd all be a lot poorer without this contact as we saw a year ago.
Twin Peaks, now there's a series...

Paul has summed it up nicely.

This forum is the friendliest forum that I have ever been on. It is my preferred of all the free Citroen forums that I go onto. But like anything thats open to the public, it only takes one troublemaker to spoil it for the rest of us.

When Ciaran first set up this site as a temporary Forum I had doubts about having so many moderators.
In practice it has been highly successful, no Mod wars removing and reposting content.
This recent incident proved the value of our set up.
Not all mods happened to come on line but still more than one mod picked up on the issue within hours.
Each of us monitored what was happening then we took quick and effective action.
That we did not need to consult each other to achieve this says much about the great and constructive way our real members treat and use this site.
The unacceptable content quickly stood out from the norm and was culled.

Amen to all the above.

Without doubt the friendliest, most easy going and effective forum I've seen. I only subscribe to one other forum (not car related ) and that is, in large part, ruined by a handful of people who seem to take a delight in subverting almost every topic and turning it into a personal slanging match. I think we are very lucky here to have the dedicated souls who keep it running, along with a cracking bunch of members.
