Bob Halliday

Post by robert_e_smart » Fri May 20, 2011 7:17 am

Morning Folks,

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the recent passing of Bob Halliday.

I was speaking to some of the CCC members in Falkirk who only just found out that Bob died almost a month ago.

My thoughts are with his family, and he will be sadly missed.

I had dealings with Bob several times over the years, I found him to be one of nature's true gentlemen. Very sad news indeed.

Best wishes to his family, Colin.P

A sad loss to both his family and the forum. Bob was very clearly a great XM enthusiast and his willingness to have a go himself at fixing problems with his car was admirable - his contributions to the forum will be missed.

That's a real shame, Bob seemed a nice Guy. What a strange issue too, an unexplained collapsed lung, iirc.

He sure did seem like a nice bloke, and such a shame to loose him so suddenly.
For 78 years of age he had a lot more energy than most.

This is very sad news guys, in fact I was thinking about Bob just last week and sent him a PM asking after him, as we hadn't heard anything from him since he last updated the thread from hospital about his collapsed lung etc.
Even then he was in 'work' mode, posting from his hospital bed to ask car questions for a mate! That was very typically him, no stopping him and still doing the things he loved even despite medical issues getting in the way, a nicer guy you could never hope to meet.

Thoughts are with his family, he'll be sorely missed around here.

I can only echo all of what's been said above. I only met him the once when he came to collect my XM, I was amazed at him by his youthfulness at 78. Very sad news indeed. :(

As above...

A great shame.

I met him once when he needed a wiper motor for his XM. He was a lovely bloke.

A great loss to the Citroen community.

Thoughts and condolences to his family.

David.

I have just returned from Scotland, very sorry to hear the news. Never met Bob but he always seemed very pleasant and I think possibly our oldest contributer.
