It kind of does if your prepping the image and trying to reduce file size whilst not totally destroying the image. 72 DPI usually is standard for web.
I was reducing the image in Photoshop....just interested in what image size was initially.

I can't even remember how mine worked now back I need 2012. I kept reducing it I think and suddenly it was accepted, so I left it!

You reduce pixel count, not dpi. Dpi actually has no meaning whatsoever unless you start to think about physical appearance like printing. An image on its own has no dpi. The file format does store a value but it has no meaning.

Many years ago I wrote an article about this in a DTP magazine somewhere. I introduced a new quantity called expected quality factor and showed that this happens to be what people actually term dpi. :-)
