That certainly is really sad news, although we knew poor Ray had limited time on this earth with such a horrid condition. It was very distressing to see how Ray deteriorated over quite a short period, but what a fight he put up, endeavouring to enjoy life and keep active and positive, wherever possible. The guy was an inspiration given the situation he faced and infectious with his enthusiasm and commitment to the XM and generous to the core with a lovely sense of humour. I was privileged to join Ray for his gathering of family and friends in Bootle and part of his last trip to Spain and I am so glad I did for those happy memories. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Ray is in the other place extolling the virtues of hydraulic Citroens and in particular our favourite model! Regards, Matthew T.

Guys,

Paul has kindly informed me that Ray's funeral will be held on Tuesday 31st at 13.20, in Thornton Crematorium, Liverpool, L23 1TP.
I'm looking in to going across for it, pending some work stuff but hope to be there.

Is anyone else in a position to make it? I think it would be nice for Ray if we could maybe get a few Citroens at the funeral?

Ciarán

Such sad news. Please pass on my condolences to his family. My XM is SORNd atm so I won't be able to partake of a suitable tribute at his funeral, but I really hope that many others do.

I will remember the diary he posted of his epic last roadtrip for a long time.

Ciaran has confirmed that he will be coming over from Ireland to be at Ray's funeral in Liverpool on Tuesday.
It would really be good if just one more member could get there, so we could have something of a Citroen presence at the occasion.
Ray was someone rather special, and had many friends and followers here.
Time, date, location in Ciaran's post above.

Haven't been on forum for a few weeks and now back to find out these sad news about Ray. Little over two weeks ago I lost cousin (36 yrs old) who left wife and two kids. It's been hard time, for whole family. Now I just read about Ray and feel sorry and angry for myself that didn't find out earlier. I wish I could pay last respect to honour his incredible attitude to life and way he challenge his weaknesses. Rest in Peace Ray.
Regards
Prem

Very sad news. I only knew him briefly but wish I had known him longer. Especially tragic for someone so young. RIP Ray. I'm sure that there must be XMs in heaven to enjoy.

LG.

Sorry to learn that. I didn't realize Ray yet might want to send my sympathies to his loved ones.
