Series 1 XM breaking in Tiverton, Devon

Post by red_dwarfers » Sun Jul 01, 2012 11:20 am

Thisis just up the road from me. It's a 2ltr 8v petrol according to the GSF website. After stripping blackxm's Exclusive a couple of weeks back I really don't have the space to be stashing more stuff but if anyone does end up stripping it down I'd be up for helping out. I imagine the underbody is a bit suspect with the seller saying that it's been in a field for a few years. It's been of the road since 2003!

This auction was mentioned a short while back with Paul posting the thread.

How did you find the prices of the guy breaking the black Exclusive Kev?
I did enquire about the chevron grille splitter on the nosecone but 35quid
does seem quite a chunky price so left that and fitted a whole s1 nosecone.
I actually miss the big chevrons on the nose as I'd got used to them!
The s1 is a bit too subtle to the s2 in your face - a balance option is needed. lol

Whoops, I should have checked!

You never know Peter, maybe the owner could afford the MoT but not the tax

I found his prices reasonable. If he asked for the equivalent of £35 for a grille for the bits I got (24v alloys, rear lights, RCL box and plips, sunroof, mudflaps, wood trim, radio, struts with calipers, discs and all) I would have walked away. I don't imagine there's a lot left of if to be honest, the engine's gone, leather's spoken for along with a few panels. Not a lot of the dsah left either!
