Subframes arent hard to drop, and you can drop it on the passenger side ONLY, well, lower it enough to get at the pipes.. Surely there must be someone about with a Citroen Flare tool to make a join where the bad pipe is...

Its possible to support the rear of the car in the area of the fuel tank useing the Cill Lip along a length, lower the suspension, remove the rear wheel and undo the Two 18mm bolts with a jack under the frame, then lower it down on the one side.. Needs to be done on the floor not on a ramp.

Im unfortunally too far away in North Wales, otherwise, yes Id come and do it...

I think you should put it in the sales and wants section to see if any interest is made..

Thanks for that. I will try and drive it home again and have a look. The garage said that the have damaged pipes going into a valve block and that the pipes are all very badly corroded.
Such a shame as its a great car!!

That’s good news Phil. A few hours with some new pipe and a flaring tool can sort that no problem at all..

I am off to see Barry at Wolsey house motors in Diss. He has 2000 xm 2.1 in very good order. He seems to know his stuff and has offered a very fare price for mine. Hope we can do a deal.
I'll let you all know how I get on !!
Regards
Phil

Been to look at it. Much better than mine. Every thing seems to work and it did look very well maintained. Its going to cost me £3000.00.
But that includes delivery and him taking mind away which makes it easier for me. People must be thinking I'm totally made but the last one did me for ten years of happy motoring.
What do you think ??

Phil

One of the last.. for that money it NEEDS to be spot on in every respect and every even though its a 2000...

that includes the lhd display.. spheres all good .. auto box if it is auto having the fluid changed.. cam belt done and water pump and be totally faultless...

for what whm charge it should live to that above...

Nice one saving your old car. Danny will see it right and the new one will be a good buy. I should know...mine was saved by himself. But as Paul has already said...make sure it is top notch.

Thanks for that. The only faults I could see was the left hand display did not work and I don't think the indicators self cancled.
It did mid on tickover when cold. He said its never done it before. He thinks it was poor quality fuel. I drove it for about 10 miles and it ran perfect. I checked under the bonnet again and it ran perfectly.
He had lots of xm and most other Citroen model so he is a real expert
Think I will go for it!!
