Well spotted there Will, I saw it after a second watch near the house on the right hand bend..

There is zero slipping, its the only issue I have with the box, other wise its very good indeed for an unknown qty.

Ill get the valve block out when the car can rest for longer periods.. I know when its about to change which its just on 50mph so I ease off to smooth the change and stop the rev up..
Its otherwise a really nice drive which Im enjoying very much indeed. Other then central locking else where

Hydractive also doesn't work.. Sliding the switch the lamp doesn't illuminate.. Hydractive also shares F34 too.. Maybe an earth issue. Relating to locking and suspension.

This turned out to be a poor connection at the ECU .. so the switch is working now however the C5 spheres are that soft its masks the stiffer ride, thank god lol..

Well.. A sudden brain storm last night had me thinking about the central earth plate that's just beside drivers side of the heater box attached to the side of the steering colum frame. I took it all out to get at the stepper. Motor as the heater box flap are stiff so I do t get fluid air flow direction Control. Standing too long they have got a bit stiff.. Anyway had a look today and.. Well.. Spot the mistake..

So.. Lo n behold.. Bolted it back on and hey presto.. Alarm function has returned and locking works from key in the door.. Unfortunaly the plipper either isn't transmitting or reciver is dead... Doesn't matter for now.

I've a lazy bout lock solinoid to sort out. It doesn't fire straight away. It doesn't go unless you lock and unlock about 8 times by then the system times out.. I have a few i can try.

Can reassemble the dash now..

Be careful with that boot lock servo, they can jam in the locked position and gaining access to the boot is then a real issue.
You have to apply undue force to the lock using the key and operate the boot release simultaniously, which may still not be operational. The application of extra force can be enough to break the plastic link in the lock linkage before the lock unlocks.

Not much to say about the earth connection, it's like having a banging hangover after a party...self inflicted.

The owner's handbook iirc lists how to use the boot key to set whether the boot lock operates from the central locking, or not.
Depends on how the key is turned and removed from the boot lock.

Also check the proper Alarm Reset routine, so both alarm and locking operate together correctly.

The boot key lock is siezed. So it's via central lock or nothing. When I go through my key sets I'll try find a boot lock and matching key for ultimate safety.

The alarm reset is correct. It used to work years ago. So not sure now. Anyway, least of my worries the drivers door lock works so I'm pleased there's no need for any further dash tear down..

Either re-key the complete car, or strip the boot lock down to see if it is the correct combination. It's fiddly, but reconfiguring a lock can be done.

A few steps forward today. Reassembled the passenger side of the dash and put the dash under tray back in place.
Electric arm rest only comes up half way so took the box off and the frame seems to twist when it stops. There's no wires or anything obvious in it. So that will need a swap out at some point..
Ran lexia over the abs today..
Screenshot_20211101-191630.png
Strangely the permanent rear right wheel fault cleared and the intermittent left hand rear one won't. All faults cleared on the page except the top one.. So I think I'll try another hydraulic block power board at some point.
Next I wanted to try another heater plug box to see if I could get the warning lamp to work.. It still doesn't so I'll have a look at the wiring diagram, again gabours diagrams are NOT 2.1td compatable. It's completely different..
Next., why doesn't cruise work. Firstly the pump was disconnected. So connected it up.. Ran the pump but it produced little to no suction. So another item to swap out at a later date..
Finally for today.. The lazy boot solinoid.. It has always taken about 7 or 8 toggles of locking to get it to work.. This often resulting in controller time out.. So I had a smaller more modern one from a xantia.. Had to make two new locating holes for it plumbed it all in and now a lock and unlock every time., if course the key lock has siezed on the boot do a reliable solinoid is needed..

So fairly happy with today. Got some answers today.

The Abs sensor is probably the connector on the rear subframe.

Not looked at Gabor's diagram for glow-plug lamp, but experience tells me it is likely to be either the lamp, or cracked solder joint on the board edge connector....Hmm, blue one iirc.

Good fix on the boot locking motor, it would be worth removing the boot lock and stripping it down.

I did strip this one down about 10 years ago. It improved but went lazy again..

I realised about 11pm last night why the vac pump on the cruise wasn't making vaccum.. I'm was meant to energise the built in safty solinoid at same time as powering the pump.. So job for today..

Do you mean connector in the relay box or on the lamp warning display in the dash??
