A good specification in a really nice colour. Looking forward to seeing this being put back into service.
You did well finding that, how did you come across it?
Here is a bit of history.

Thanks for that information. It came up by chance when my partner was chatting with Ally Getty. We said we were looking for an XM and he pointed us to Peter, who was looking for "the right" home for his late father's. Luckily we were able to convince him that we had the facilities and the enthusiasm to take it on, and within a week or so Peter ferried it to the mainland for us and it was transported south to begin its new life on the Devon coast (it will be protected from by lanoguard or similar – but as it survived the Scottish mainland AND the Isle of Arran it's clearly doing quite well).
It's a solid car, and remarkably well preserved in many respects, but still needs a fair bit of fault-finding and restoration before it can hit the road.
I haven't owned an XM for about 19 years, but have yearned for one for a long time, so it's very exciting to be restoring this one!

Ohh, I wish I'd known about that one looking for a home, a V6 manual in memphis blue is one of my top pics of Xm.
A V6 manual is a pretty quick car, 0-60 in 7,8s and runs out of puff at 138mph.

Hi everyone,
New, happy owner of a 1997 2.1td Exclusive auto hatch, Emerald Green, R714 JKV.
The RP number on the passenger door frame is CJ 7158, but that'd be a June 1996 build. Which is strange, given mine was first registered in November 1997.
1997 2.1td Exclusive auto hatch. RP CJ 7153.

Nothing strange in a later Xm sitting around for a bit before being registered, especially not an Exclusive model, they weren't cheap. CJ is the build plant, in this case Rennes.
Emerald is a really good colour for an Xm.

I have read the Original Post, but I'm not clear whether the objective is to create a register of all XM known to exist, or simply those owned by forum members. The reason I ask is that I'd love to have another big Citroen, and I've started doing a regular search for XMs for sale in the UK. I could quite easily collect vehicle data (it's in the public domain) while I'm doing this. e.g. 1998 2.0 TCT Hatch Auto RP6416 M797SKY sold at Mathewson's in March.

The aim was for forum members to submit their own vehicle information. Obviously, this can become out of date as cars change hands.

As part of my search for an XM over a couple of months, I collected public domain data to get an idea of which road-worthy S2 XM Breaks that had, or might, come on the market and what they had fetched - pitifully few. I also noted several more VRNs that vanished off the DVLA database in that time (scrapped). There are also a lot of XMs not on SORNs and which haven't been MoT'd for years - if the DVLA decided to 'purge' the database these cars would likely lose their VRNs...
Happy to pass on this data.
