Re: Air con

Regards,
Norman

Re: Air con
These dryers are known to become rusty, but yours was an extreme case, I think

Neglected part then? Air conditioning is needed only a couple of weeks a year? It should be on the list of routine maintenance. It should be replaced every 3 years - specialists say.

Re: Air con
Heres the typical ignorant attitude towards air con!
Ive already said else were recently that Air Con systems are NOT JUST AIR COOLERS....
They are also Sooooo usefull in wet weather and a car load of kids! Even with the heater on, switch the Air Con on, if its a good system it will still come on, and you then get a De Humidifier and hey presto ALL the windows demist in seconds!
I did this in my dads 206 SW, we were out in it, and the windows were steaming up from all the gabbing going on, so I switch the AC on, and put it on medium heat, and suddenly all the windows perfectly clear (Other then rain droplets)
So - NO the air con shouldn't get used just two weeks a year if people understand what the full purpose is of the systems.

Re: Air con
Was looking through Citroen Xantia A/C workshop manual yesterday.
It noted that the advice to run the A/C system briefly once a month was to reduce the risk of internal corrosion.
It seems that regular remixing of the fluids in the system prevents an aggressive mix settling out and attacking those particular spots over a long period.

Also it's to keep the seals lubricated so they don't dry out and leak.xmexclusive wrote:Was looking through Citroen Xantia A/C workshop manual yesterday.
