Acrylic paints do take longer to harden as the solvents are less volatile and the paint more plasticy.

Yep, good job there - I imagine I'll end up doing something similar once I get a complete set of trims.

Yep, I must admit I'm tempted, but it's a bit near payday if you know what I mean.

£45 for a set of scruffy trims? . . Not surprised they didn't sell.

I have some trims for you Mike. Apologies for not making it to Stratford, life's a bit hectic at present.

For the first time in three months everything went our way today ( well when I say everything there is one blot on the copybook), and plans made for other people to help out for a change actually came to fruition leaving us with a day to do as we please. Swmbo decided she was going clothes shopping, so off she went with the daughter and two grandkids leaving me with a few jobs to do before playtime.

Lawns cut, Xantia washed and checked over thoroughly and then up to get Goldie. When I got there the muppets had been around again trying to prise the garage doors off. This is the third time they've had a go, the other two times they just played at it but this time they've had a bloody good go (without success) but I fear it's only a matter of time and I'm going to look for somewhere else before it's too late.

The job list was simple; glovebox strut out, glovebox catch in, and new bulbs in the RH display. The glovebox came out very easy and so did the strut. The strut will only fit into the glovebox itself one way so it was in correctly

There is some resistance in the strut but obviously not enough gas to do the job properly and I'll see how much the company Graeme posted will charge for doing it.

The catch was very fiddly. Getting the spring to marry up with the holes and the steel bar was a bit of a pain

but looks so much better for it.

They were easy though in comparison to getting at the display. The trim came off easy enough  but the display itself would not split in half. The pins holding the two sections together were solid and it took an age to gently prise them apart. But now with new bulbs in it looks the part.

And just to show how cool I am even at 140F there wasn't a bead of sweat on my brow.

The wheel trims are back on and look a lot better. Although she doesn't do a lot of mileage I think it's time for a service and would hope to get that done in the next couple of weeks . . . all things being equal.

The switches to the right of the ignition and on the centre console are looking very jaded. Has anyone got any newer looking ones they wouldn't mind parting with.

It's interesting that your temperature display is in F instead of C.

Nice work Neil. I need to do exactly the same with my glove box and digital display. Hope you find Goldie a new home before it's too late.
That sounds a little scary, I'd be worried sick.
