Rather than cut the front wings, why not be the first to have repeaters in the door mirrors?

I shall only temporarily surface fix the repeaters with tape Will and want to keep the car original! Here are some photos from my trip out today in the sun. Regards, Matthew T.

Well that is not a bad result... Only numberplate bulbs and indicator repeaters. Pretty good, can cope with that. :D
The French were a bit slow adopting the repeaters. They aren't in any of the early XM promo stuff. It does look so much cleaner without them.

I like the idea of hiding the lights in the wing mirrors. Nice idea Will. :) another idea I thought they missed a trick with, was to take out the silver trim on the wing trim panel and have that as a repeater.

With those wheel trims, lack of repeaters and no sunroof, it looks like a toy car.

Luvin the roof...

why are they called repeaters...side indicators makes more sense and I totally agree, put in the mirrors or in the silver trim. Beautiful car and let's lobby Brussels to get those stupid mot rules about number plate lights that are utterly non-safety related-abolished ;)

I have looked at side repeaters in the mirrors.
The main problem is that all the wire pins are used in the front door connectors.

If MTXM wants to keep as original as possible I can think of two places to locate standard Mk1 repeaters.
On the small rubbing strip on the rear of the wing or the end covers at the ends of the windscreen.
In both cases a pair of small easily fixed spare parts would be needed and modified to take the lights.
Wiring would be easy and not need visible holes in the outside bodywork of the car.

Many thanks for your thoughts John and here is a photograph of my temporary arrangement for the MOT retest! A little crude I acknowledge but hopefully acceptable and does anyone recognize the light fitting? With regards, Matthew T.

 well it does the job!

Interior roof lining lights? Or boot lights... Or glovebox.... All the same aren't they!
