Only managed to drive it a couple of miles to the garage and back for the welding doing but I could feel the difference. Much more solid feel to it.

No chance, the black covers up the rust. Silver would look awful. Got to get the front ones off yet, see what state they're in.

Why is it that when you make time for yourself to do the things you want to do everyone else believes that time is theirs to use as they please. Plan yesterday was to have a full day on the car with the intention of getting the rear half done - NO, I ended up with less than two hours and even then the bloody phone never stopped ringing.

All I got done was prep work on the wheel arches and removal of the towbar. It's an understatement to say I'm cheesed off.

I need some new clips for the mudflaps but they can only be a certain width, and how the hell do you refit the felt piece behind the wheel arch? From the little I can see there's nothing obvious for it to clip into.

Frustrating day all round.

Ditto.
My felt silencer went on easily but with the rear bumper removed, I can imagine it'sa right pain trying to reach in from the wheel arch and see what yyou're doing.

To fit the felt piece remove the vent grills inside the boot Neil (two screws) and there is a clip to engage at the base of the hole I think. I planned a full day on my engine rebuild yesterday and ended up with an afternoon and late into the night! Regards, Matthew T.

Thanks, Matt, that tip is extremely timely. I need to remove the rear bumper to fit some reversing sensors, and was also a bit puzzled about refitting the air ducts. Manuals simply say "reach up and remove"... :?

No problem Chris and they are slightly easier to remove than refit! I think the grills may actually have one screw. Regards, Matthew T.

The plastic clip on the felt air duct, latches over the edge of the metal of the air duct and holds it in place.

Thanks, I'll take the vent off the next time I'm over there, hopefully sometime this week.
