Need to figure out if the old fitting would fit such a new housing but i've no idea what the thread size is or what the part number is of the original housing which would enable me to cross check compatability. steve

That is the older Lucas CAV type of filter head. I purchased on and found the casting to be somewhat unfinished. The Purflux unit is better, IMHO.

I can't remember the price of the repair kits from Darwen, but iirc, about £10 each kit.
