And that's all I did for the clutch side of things. All done now and done without fully removing the 'box, just sideways far enough to get the alignment tool and new release bearing in. How you did yours I believe Dean. Made it much easier all told!

The gearbox slid back on like oiled silk :D

My genuine Citroen release bearing engagement tool proved to be not as good as my home-made one

I busied myself by completing the reassembly of the dash following a heater matrix change well be fore Christmas along wit making tea and going and getting fish and chips...

A good day :D

I had a home made BE3/5 centraling tool for 1.9 xud etc setups... Cut off a knackered old gearbox..

Fantastic tool, got it right everytime.. Unfortunally the ME/ML gearbox's have a larger input shaft, so it doesnt work on these. I fill the shoft out with insulting tape.. This HAS however worked the few times Ive done a hdi 110 clutch...

Nice one Jim. Pleased to hear you have resisted.. :D

I've an old-fashioned alignment tool I've had for years and years. It's a universal one intended for British cars and has a selection of mandrels, none of which fit any PSA clutch but doing as you do and building them up with tape it works a treat.

I don't bother with an alignment tool, just look at he friction plate alignment against the flywheel. I did the XM clutch like this with the box moved sideways and it went back in first time.

I didnt bother making the extra space to shift the activa box over far enough to get the alignment tool, in fact ive never used one truth be told, i either do as Will said or (in the case of the activa) i put the box back on with the friction plate loose and then done the bolts up holding the clutch onto the flywheel though the slave cylinder hole in the gearbox after it was bolted back on, very easy.

Ah-ha :D Good thinking Dean! I can see that being an even better method. Excellent 8-)

And Paul, that'll work for a 110HDi just as well too ;)

Bit more this evening, well just a tiny bit...

The car had no Dip beam, but Full beam and side lights worked... Checked bulbs, checked as blown on the drivers side.. Fitted another still no dip.. Ah ! Lights relay. And hey presto, it was. Swapped the relay for another full lighting restored.

Also a rear tail light out... bulb swap, sorted! All lighting restored to working. Only one front fog light currently working, but not an mot issue.

Next to do list that still needs dooing is as follows:

fit drivers side front pads,
find out why the blower doesn't work,
find drivers door window switch harness and switchs. Door card removed and harness missing for some reason.
Front washers not working, cant even hear either washer motor working.. Hope its only a fuse!
Remove rear wheels to check rear calipers arent siezed, check pads and discs.
Fit exhaust from the down pipe backwards. Actually, the centre section that was hanging off the car is in serviceable condition.
Fit pair of front tyres

go for an MOT.

Then engine service inc coolant, water pump and cam belt.
Fit an accumilator sphere which is a little tired now.
