This is awful!
Good luck with sorting it all out.

Re: Russ's 2.1 SED Auto now Mandarin

As you all might know by now, I once again own a K reg 2.1 SED auto but this time in Mandarin. And you will know the car well. It's Rob's (Raggers) car, and he very kindly offered me it after agreeing to buy Jim's V6 on Saturday. So this weekend for me at least, had been really quite an odd one. One minute dealing with the shock and loss of my XM and then within 48 hours I have a very fine replacement. I have to thank Rob for allowing me to buy it from him. I just need to remember it's now Mandarin when parking in carparks!

It will take a bit of adjustment and it kind of feels like starting all over again, even though this SED is as good if not better in areas than my old one. It's bad enough loosing a car like that, but for me it was how to replace it with a car as good as mine. And amazingly it has happened.
The deal was done on Sunday, a mad dash to the national with mugs in tow and most of important of all to pick up the new XM. Very pleased with it too. :D

Understatement of the Millennium there I think Russ

I know I clocked up a fair few miles for my part in it all, enough to use a whole tank for fuel in the Activa

Mind you, it did have a 4HP20 in the boot - which is still there... That can't have helped economy very much...

Seriously though Russ, I had a quick look at the car and it looks absolutely lovely!

I'm very delighted with my mug. It has taken up residence amongst my display of Citroen models and other Citroen related mugs...

Excellent Jim, glad you like the mug. Thanks for looking over the SED for me. I also had Darren Cross test it out too. You might have seen him racing across the field in it! It got the clean bill of health!

Excellent news, delighted for you. I'm sure you will start liking this car very fast. And you've got loads of spares now which is one of the plus points of the whole weekend. I might occasionally ask for a loan of parts to get ours through the MOT :)

Just landed back home from the National. Just to reiterate what I said to Russ on Sunday. Really, really sorry for the loss of your treasured XM. I'd be distraught if it were mine. You looked remarkably upbeat and composed. I'd be fraught and fuming. Good luck with the insurance process. :-)

Russ..

Im shocked to hear of this unfortunate luck... whats more, I REMEMBER hearing Sally Traffic (or possibly Bobby Prior) talk of an accident at Cathorp Interchange but of course you NEVER ever expect there to be anyone you know involved!

Pleased to hear most importantly that YOU are OK, and nothing serious to your self!

Poor XM, at least you have the remains of the car to do a "Paul" strip down to the shell bare, like I do, and keep everything else... including the rear quarter windows..

Anyway. Glad to see your well, and how speedy getting another! There be none left for me soon.. ;)
