Citroen dashes are famous for their impressions of ship's rigging creaking in the swell. All our BX needed was the theme from the Onedin Line to set the scene!

Where the binnacle shroud fits onto the dash, there should be a felt strip. Ensure it is still there.

Those felt strips tend to go walkies if the dash is taken apart...fragile little bits that stop plastic touching plastic.
Black velvet-finish Fablon does the job, although you might need a squidge of adhesive as well.

I think Russ may have spent the day in his XM with a pot of vasaline and some felt.
I would imagine equally as peculiar as spending an afternoon there with some moisturiser, possibly much worse than the wife's conditioner mind but still a worrying trend growing in popularity among forum Admin.

I'm afraid I have to disappoint you there Dean. No Vaseline this time. Although I did treat the binnicle with some E45 cream once I had refitted it.

Stuffing the inside lip of the binnacle with the foam has stopped it from buzzing and the strips of neoprene has helped too I think.
