Jim,

Do you want a spare pump to play with?? Ive got a 2.1 TD/ TCT pump in the shed BUT the suction feed pipe is snapped off..

I remember removing it from a low milage car.. I took the effort to carefully do it, then dropped the bloody thing which snapped the feed pipe clean off.. I still kept the pump though..

Yours to play with/fix if you like jim..

I've been all over Xantia 6+2 pumps but never been near the XM type so that'll be just about excellent! Many thanks indeed

Xantia pumps are metal cased, as you may have noticed, the XM ones are plastic.. with a different looking construction..

Ill get it together and sent down to you...

Now the weather has warmed up a bit the pump has stopped weeping LHM

Definitely a case of the car having contracted Activaitis - must keep them apart in future.

Paul, I'd still like your broken one when you can dig it out...

The plastic and bush have expanded a bit Jim, and sealed up the gap!

No probs, Ill have a look for you, Im certain Ive seen it lately, but after the last breaker Im in a bit of a mess again.. I think I knw where it is.. On the spare PRV 24 engine...

That is the most likely explanation Paul. Exactly what occurs with Activa rams...

No rush on the pump - next time I'm up your way or perhaps if that's not in the foreseeable than pass it over to Robyn's other half who's at Uni in Bangor... Robyn sees him very regularly and I see Robyn fairly regularly so that might work....

Oh happy days

Just dug my XM out of it's covering of snow - still pretty much intact as it had been parked in a very shady nook - and despite not moving for several weeks she started on the button and purred.

I'd forgotten just what a lovely drive she is

I've missed her...
