Common problem because like the XM sub-frames was made from plain steel is just painted black.
Falls victim to UK road salt.

The next step in painting, managed to get these bits squeezed in if I removed them, luckily no masking is required as the light unit trim is easily removable once the light unit is removed from the car.

I think the rear end should look quite tidy with the new bits painted.

Nope... It's at the rear... Where it works best

I think the photographer was not central making the projecting tow-ball appear offset.
