I did - 2 for the price of one.

My existing glasses were in fact an old prescription bought over 11 years ago, used simply because I stepped on my last set (again). It is amazing how rubbish they now are.

It is amazing how quickly eyes can change Charles. Mine have, over the past five years, deteriorated badly to the extent that I needed regular hospital visits and then in the past couple of years began to improve again, this last few months very markedly to both my and my opticians amazement...

I can see it by looking through three year old glasses that are now unusable...

Sorry, no pun intended in that last sentence... :)

In my case they do look like they have been cleaned with sandpaper too!

Was that to give them an anti-reflective look?

My glasses need changing every year. I used to be able to see a flee on a fence post 100 yards away, and tell the sex of it - now I can't see the bloody fence post without my glasses!

Another day another issue.

So yesterday I starting re-wiring my Mercedes 190 so I could connect a Becker with ISO connections. That takes out the fuse responsible for the central locking (and immobiliser) so the car couldn't be started or moved. Today, get new fuses (old style ones needed), complete job - perfect.

Then, today the Black XM decides to start showing ABS problems like the last time - so I brake, car comes to a near halt then the brakes let go and I'm inches away from hitting another car. Having had the inceptor rings done, I assume it's some other lovely problem. So when it stops hailing out I'll go to remove the ABS fuse, which no doubt will cause some other problem.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr......

That won't cause any problems, taking out that fuse. Welcome to the world of the ABS problems :(

It has been so wet of late that I wonder if this might have upset the sensor.

However, I have decided to sell the V6, now I have the 2.1 td I just don't need two XMs, and I have plenty of other cars.

Back to the SD, finally! It has got a bit wet in the back of late and the main beam light has been flashing in time with the right indicator dashboard light when dipped are on, but apart from that, it's time to sort the stereo. This was a bit daunting to start with, but having just successfully wired up a new series of ISO connectors for the Cosworth, I thought if an idiot like me could do that, then I could do this too!

The existing loom - it looked like there was an antenna amplifier for the old stereo, hence the large number of additional wires, but with Dieselman's help I traced it all back the original connectors and can work from there.
