Nah, its defo the Veg, because I noticed it too, when it was on DERV it would start fine, but when I got it up to about 85% veg, it was a bit dicky on first start..

Just an issue with the pump pulling thicker stuff which isn't a problem with an intank pump or prime of the filter canister :)

Filled up with diesel today, and I guesstimate from the amount I put in that the derv/veg oil mix in the tank was more like 40:60. So at these temperatures I reckon the mix was just too oil rich. Running perfectly now!

Took the car up to Bicester and back yesterday, a nice 100 mile round trip, and it just purred up the motorway, the most refined drive I think I ever recall in a diesel. I'd heard veg oil makes things run more smoothly but this is really the first time I'd experienced it. Lovely beastie.

The sweet sweet smell of a good veggie :)

Don't forget to check the intank filter after a few tankfulls, they don't often get loads of stuff in them but it has annoyingly been known :)

Two new additions to the engine bay, a shiny new coolant tank cap to replace the slightly past it old one and a lid for the hydractive control unit box, many thanks to MTXM!

If I can, yes.

Wait until Vince has worked his magic this weekend!

The great work has commenced. Vince arrived first thing this morning, a good natter and a sausage bap later, he's shown me how to use a polisher and is cracking on with the Cosworth, with a view to starting the XM before bedtime tonight.
