Ok quick update..

After some welding to the off side cill due to careless tyre fitters bending the jacking point, she went in for MOT today.. AND PASSED

NO Advisories!

So from tomorrow, I shall be road testing her for a month, and then sell on to help us on a bit..

Just get it advertised. 12 months ticket always sways buyers.

No will... i want to BE SURE she is 100% or 99% right and no to little issues before she goes!

Good news Paul!

As above though, with an older car 12months MOT appeals more to buyers than 11 or less as they just tend to think something cojld easily have gone wrong since the test even though it probably hasn't it just helps then have peace of mind

You are assuming you will sell it on day one. Get it advertised and drive it until it goes.

I know i will sell her. i have a que waiting already.. the problem i have just now is if i sell her now ill have no car again untill the next one is ready..

If 12 month even mattered that much surely you could road test for a month & then shell out for another MoT and sell it with 13 months ticket, if you can still work it like that... TBH though I'd be happy enough to buy something with 11 months or anything over 6/7 months really, as with buying any older car you'd still want to go over it properly yourself first and XM buyers are more likely to be enthusiasts than someone looking for a cheap runabout anyway. Congratulations on getting the test pass with no advisories too, that's always a plus.

The only way to get 13months MOT is to test it exactly one month before he current one expires. Any test before that will still expire 12months from the date of the test.

Sorry Paul I thought you had a Xantia or the PRV still on the road

I do still have the prv on the road.. but at 20mpg urrrmmm.. not for 18 mile EACH way commuting for me... just yet..

Xantias... no she has gone. Ive got a hdi sx to scrap and a 1994 td sx needing a finishing resto..
