92 (K) XM 2.1 Turbo SD - Manual

Post by Duke » Mon Feb 08, 2021 7:58 pm

Evening All,

It is hard to believe that it has been over 6.5 Years since my last posting here on Club-XM, however I thought that it was only right to update the Club-XM stalwarts on the current situation regarding a particular XM that has graced these pages on numerous occasions.

Pictured here this morning providing sterling service during some seasonal weather is indeed the one-and-only K-BAN - a car which I have seen receive a very impressive array of works over the past few months securing it's future for years to come.

When the weather improves I look forward to updating with further photographs however at present I must profess to enjoying the 2.1 Turbo SD Manual experience :)

All the best - Thanks & Kind Regards,

Franklin.

Welcome back Franklin.
I had seen that K-BAN had wended it's way over to the sunny East.
As a daily use Xm, the 2.1 manual is very competent.

Definitely the best. ;) I ran 2.1. TD manual estates for 10 years for work and enjoyed most minutes of it, must have done 200,000 + miles in them, very reliable, once I got to grips with them, lovely ride, loads of space and super fuel consumption.

Beautiful Citroën XM! The 2.1 TD engine is a real rock and the range and consumption it has is surprising.

Many thanks Will - good to hear from you. I agree, a 2.1 Turbo SD is a very competent daily driver and with the recent flurry of works carried out, I have no hesitation in using it every-day if needs be. K-BAN is doing well for nearly 30 Years Old.

Thanks Peter. I can't say I know the exact fuel consumption of K-BAN as of yet, however the needle hasn't moved much yet...! Being used to sub-20 MPG V8s for a while now, infrequent stops for fuel are always welcome...

Thanks Jarvis. Indeed coupled with the BOSCH pump too, it is a nice combination for reliability and simplicity.

All the best - Thanks & Kind Regards,

Franklin.

I used to get well over 50 mpg on our annual north of Scotland trips, but I don't drive hard or fast.
