completed the seal replacement

had massive issues getting the lid back on, and i'm worried i may have bent the throttle shaft and linkage

it won't turn with the screwhead on the top now, throttle is rock solid

any way to sort this? or shall i buy a replacement shaft

I would doubt you have bent the shaft, more likely the linkage is not in properly so jammed.

Try Darwen Diesels for any replacement parts, they are available.

Yes it doesn’t seem to be damaged at all, just whenever I tighten down the lid it jams and won’t move

No matter what position I try, I get the same results

Go Back over your work and lift the pump top again.
I suspect you have put the top back on witht he linkage the wrong side of the metering linkage, so it's jammed.

I can’t figure this out
No matter what I try the moment it gets tightened it jams

My guess is the yellow circle may need to hook over the orange circle. You may need to pull it over to hook on correctly. But also I'm no expert as I've not opened one up yet to see.

This is the issue with working in situ. Delicate accurate operations cant always be done.

Have a look at Jim's website again on his pump dismantle and see if it gives a clue. The xantia pump is basically the same thing without the water controlled advance on the front.

It appears something is rubbing the body of the governor, which I suspect is the accelerator shaft lever.
Check the accelerator shaft is fully inserted into the top cover, not projecting into the pump body too far.
