That should work.
Normally the intake manifold tightens down sufficiently to compress the inner smaller diameter rubber.

And that was replaced, some time ago it happened to me that after a completely normal drive around the city, I park the car in front of a restaurant and after 15 minutes I turn on the car transmission, it won't go into any gear, as if I'm putting it in all gears without a clutch.
I turn off the engine, I try the transmission, it goes into all gears perfectly, I start the engine again, the same thing happens in all gears, it jerks, as if I'm shifting into gears without a clutch.
I turn off the engine again and push the clutch 5-6 times hard and quickly, at one point I hear as if something clicked on the clutch, I start the engine again and try the gears, it goes smoothly into all gears, as if nothing had happened, that's how I drove it. drove for another 10 days and no real problem, just in case I bought a set of clutches and replaced them.
I don't know what could have been the problem, whether it was the clutch or something stuck in the gearbox, the old lamella was not bad, except that some springs broke, but they could not be the cause of the gearbox not going into any gear. for now everything is working fine, there was oil in the gearbox, I poured new oil again.

Replaced the crankshaft seal, it was leaking oil.

Today the pulley was also replaced , in the last month I hear a screeching sound when I start the engine, it lasts for half a minute and then it doesn't sound, I thought the PK belt was loose, tight, nothing happens, it behaves the same, I said maybe some engine mount is crooked and somewhere on the chassis the engine rests and makes such a screeching sound.
I checked everything before, just before the vacation and I didn't find anything suspicious, in the last 10 days the squeaking started to be heard a little more, I took off the plastic and said let's see what's happening in that part, it's heard on that side, I looked PK belt pulley and I can see that the tire is in a slightly worse condition, I tighten the pulley with my hand and a big screwdriver, but nothing happens.
It occurs to me to mark it with paint and see in a few days what will happen, if the lines are separated, then the pulley is crumbling, and of course after a few days I look, the lines diverge :fact: so the pulley was making that squeaking, load the pump and until he applies pressure, he has a heavy load and slips and squeaks a little.
Of course, I bought a new one and replaced it today, now it doesn't squeak anymore.

..old marked pulley, lines are in place

..after a few days of driving, the lines diverged

...the new Akron pulley, and I immediately marked it with lines, so I could have a visual check.

...made new painted in the middle and marked

..miraculously everything is dry, not a single semering gets wet, at least for now

Good idea marking the pulley.
The clutch was probably the broken anti-vibration spring was catching on the pressure plate fingers, so continued turning with the flywheel.

You are doing well with your rolling restoration, keep up the good work.

How many Km has this Xm now covered since you have owned it?

It's not a big mileage, but in principle it's solid for our conditions
I was on vacation this year, the fuel consumption was acceptable, 7.5 L per 100 km, the car was full of things and there were 4 of us in it.

..it wasn't quite empty, maybe it could hold another liter more.
