Is that parking brake cable route simply not a result of the steering being on tight left lock?

No its curving. Its meant to push through the hooks but the inner part isn't so its doiing a great curviture route instead.

The pictures are taken on straight ahead and left lock but not full lock

Cleaned up the flexi unions and thankfully the dirt covering them both has kept them as new..

I had a go firstly at trying to adjust the cable guide routing to reduce the sharp curve in the cable.

Shall see if the wheel clears it all after I do the flexi hoses

A quick visit to the farm today, I had a look through the leather that seems to be multiplying again..

This car drivers seat is a bit flat with wear on the drivers outer bolster but no holes, however, I think ive set on a decent replacement to go in... after its had a bloody good clean.. that is...

Beake hoses have arrived... so once the M reg 2.1td is.back on the road i can get.these on...

Then see if we still have on off side caliper issue..it was holding on slightly on its last mot.. However as seen above, the pads were almost.out, the piston wonde back really easily, the caliper slider was nice and free and the parking brake lever was nice and free too...

Apec hoses in the end..

If the sticking persists check the pads are free in the housing and lubricated with brake grease.
In my experience brakes holding on is due to dirt in the hydraulic system causing the doseur valve not to return to fully off. If so, flush the system.

Did the front flexis today and bled them up too..

Drivers side union didn't put up a fight to undo... after fitting and bleeding, I left the pedal applied keeping the brake pressure on the caliper, while I cleaned the mid out from behind the wing.. after I finished I released it, and found I could move the disk with a screw driver in the disc vent, so here's hoping the caliper holding was a combination of poor hoses and pads that were just 1mm from the metal.

Looks a lot better, here is the result of cleaning the mud out from behind the wing.. .

I'm incredably impressed with the condition. Its still perfectly square ...

Passenger side...

The hose union did put up a fight, however a quick chat with Mr mole grips cracked it off.. the flare spanner was simply going to round it off.. luckily it retained some hex shape so once it was loose I was able to get it undone . And swapped over, bled.up.. etc....

I have left it with the parking brake applied, iirc it should be holding at 11 clicks. I have pressed the parking pedal 11 clicks and I cannot move the discs, but that may be different when I come to put the wheels on..also a test to make sure the parking system isn't holding on.

For the interior spruce up and nostalgic reason, would you swap the driverd seat for a better one, or leave it as is .. ?

For me, I think keep it as its part of the cars character.. and its not ripped. It just goes with the cars true milage
