1999 V6 Exclusive Daily Drive

She is entirely road-worthy and legal, but a there are a number of few minor issues documented in their own threads:

No real progress on my Autobox Inhibitor Issue though I'm a lot more knowledgeable!

Ditto Inoperative Passenger Door Mirror.

Over the week-end I noticed the lift cord for the rear inner glass screen has lost almost all of its elasticity and won't stay on the tailgate peg. Found a novel solution (Post) this morning.

Shredded Aerial (mentioned in passing in another thread ). Bought the car knowing that the whip of the roof aeriall was "a bit frayed". This evening I took a good look at it with the intention of at least putting some PlusGas on the screw joint: more than half the root diameter is shredded and it must wave around alarmingly at speed  Decided it needed to be removed before it started beating the roof!
While waiting for the PlusGas to penetrate the joint, I explored some of the inner recesses of the car; lifting the back seat squab I couldn't believe my eyes - a slightly used aerial whip waiting to be fitted! The previous owner "had been meaning to get a new one.", so this one must have been squirreled away by the first private owner.
With a replacement to hand, I got slightly brutal and used a pair of water-pump pliers to see if the old one would move - it did, unscrewing fairly easily. Once undone, I applied a little more PlusGas and screwed it in and out several times, cleaned the thread of the replacement whip, applied some WD40 to the thread and screwed it on as tight as I could by hand. One more small job ticked off.
