205 should be 60 series not 65, to give the same rolling radius. They look like baloons..

They're pretty big!

But the auto had the same tyres on it previously, the spare is also a 205 65 as well, so its the right tyre for the 2.1 Auto versions.

I have good Michelin energys from that Xantia I am going to put on the SD to run them off. They're not far from being the correct size. I can't remember the exact details, they're either 185 or 190s. They're just a wee bit lower than the ones I have on the 2.0 Si.

As Robert has stated that's not quite true :!:
It has all been discussed recently in THIS post.

It must be me, but I've checked my manual and saw the one in that thread and still only see either 195/65 or 205/60 series. Where does it say differently?

I think it says they're 65s in the owners manual and on the sticker in the door shut.

My Pal's TCT has 205/60s.

Good afternoon chaps,

Just to update this post a bit more. I fitted a towbar to the car yesterday, I was lucky to buy a brand new one from a local dealer who had it up on e-bay. It was also handy to have the rear bumper from the Onyx in the same colour and with towbar cut out so I can take the towbar off if I sell the car again.

As a follow up on the tyres issue for 2.1TD's it seems that it is only in the spec for the Mk2 that there is a difference in the tyre size.
All XM Mk1 TD's (manual and auto) are shown as being supplied with 195/65/R15's.

Are series 2 fitted with 205/65 or 205/60 series? My understanding was that all cars had either 195/65 or 205/60 series tyres.
