A 6+2 pump on a sinker is a headache. It takes an age to lift the car.

FDV filters are only a bit of mesh, so:
A. not that important
B. easy to fashion.

Once you have owned an Activa with 10 well gassed spheres and you have waited for it to lift off the deck you understand the definition of slow.
unless you are running a newly rebuilt FDV I doubt any sinker citroen has those filters in place, I've never opened an FDV and found them in tact.

Sorry about that. Slapped wrists at this end. :(
Come to think of it, weren't 6+2 and SC/MAC introduced at the same time (MY'95)? Maybe a reason.
Did the V6 get it too?

Never handled an FDV filter; how fine are they, compared to the reservoir filters? Comparable to a suspension EV filter?
Can understand why a blocked one could simply be blown out of the way, given all that unregulated pump output pressure.

I cannot remember Chris, i guess it must be on par with the EV ones, pretty fine and delicate.

The filters are fine (plastic?) mesh and quite commonly seem to disintegrate fail and thus causing a blockage! Regards, Matthew T.

Dean, when you get some time from playing with your hydraulics, :-), could you post up some photos of your pressure gauge and the connector sizes that you use and explain where you connect into please.? It's something i've considered acquiring as you do! For example, do you tee into a hyndraulic circuit or just "dead head" the circuit into the gauge?

Use a 4.5mm pipe and connect it to the pressure regulator HP output.

...or the security valve (where low pressure warning switch is fitted), if engine bay access is difficult ?

All correct above, I like to connect straight into the regulator output which is the front right hand pipe but with the V6 its easier to connect where the joiner is further down this pipe where it mounts onto the subframe in the engine bay.

I use a 1/4" bottom entry 65mm 250bar pressure gauge connected to a flex pipe and at the other end of the pipe a short bit of 4.5mm solid pipe to connect between the flex section and the port on the regulator or joiner.

I will photograph it later and stick a link up for the gauge I just got, seems better quality than the original ones I had, one of which popped.
