Re: My Citroen XM 3.0 PR-Vestige
I'm using Yogs early model loom, with the earlier engine but the inside of the ECU alloy case is date stamped 1994, i want an early ECU from a 92 model year or earlier, the one John kindly donated is a green label manual one but it's been unlocked so i don't 100% trust it in the fault finding process.
It's odd as this manual ECU had the car running rich as hell last time i tried it, spitting flames rich but i think i re-wired the TPS sensor since then to how it drove best and made most sense and NOT how the wiring diagrams suggested, i think the wiring diagrams had the TPS pinouts completely reversed so the voltage dropped as the throttle opened.

Re: My Citroen XM 3.0 PR-Vestige
Hi Dean
There are a couple of ECU's here that turned up in a recent heap rummage.
No lids on them or any sign of the lids and screws.
Fenix 3 Yellow label S101700201 C.
Fenix 3 White label S111700211 D BVA/SO2 9621805180.
Most likely I opened them to take record photos, identify then read the memory chips.
EPROM's are 27C256's & EEPROM's 2904's.
ECU pcbs are untouched so I never got round to reading the chips.
Let me know if you want to borrow to try them.
John

Re: My Citroen XM 3.0 PR-Vestige
it did sound interesting but I doubt it would have done the CAT much good in the long term, unfortunately.
Speaking of which it will not be many more weeks until the XM comes off the road for the winter and this year's projects are already in the pipeline.
I have recently purchased a 400 cell stainless CAT as finding a half decent aftermarket unit is impossible and anything close to OE spec from suppliers like Bosal is a stupid mountain of money, i am also gathering some mandrel bends and straight lengths of 3" stainless pipe, just trying to hunt down some Magnaflow or similar good quality stainless silencers and a Muffler, it is time to delete the stupid twin pipe system with cross box that seems to run in front of pretty much every component on the back axle you need access to and replace it with something more tuneful and long-lasting. I have just been given a nice Mig welder i was after for a fiddly little project i have been messing about with which is also far better suited to welding stainless so that should get a lot of use this winter.
New rims could soon be coming, they will need some work and a lot of polishing but are a lot more closed than what I currently have and very similar to the optional 17" rims offered from Citroen i have seen, I like the lip of my current wheels but the 5 spoke style is becoming a little Meh to me now, could be a straight swap for my rims too which would be nice. https://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/brands/b ... -bore.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The final and slightly more fun project will be trying to achieve a 5th ride height, something between dragging its bum on the floor and standard ride height, a little notching on the lever mechanism with a carefully applied white (or red plastic marker on the height lever surround should achieve this but I want to incorporate a microswitch into the ride height mechanism that will bypass the main damper selection switch and automatically lock the suspension into sport mode when selecting the lower ride height, I think 30mm lower will be about right, I have always felt that a slightly lower ride height would help with the sports mode setting, similar to what you get with the Range rover airbag setup and given the system already in place in terms of switchable damping and variable ride height this (if done correctly) would result in the best of both worlds, having a true comfort ride height setting with automatic or manual damper switching, a lower, fully sports setting (as much as an XM can be) giving the car a lower Cd and the usual rough terrain setting. The only issue is that I am not sure if the height selector mechanism or height correctors are set up to cope with this at the moment, I'm sure I can get around that though.
I have also just ordered 5 waterproof relay holders and relays to replace all relays in the engine bay ECU box, despite cleaning the plugs, relay legs and relay contacts when performing the engine swap I have found my mid-range misfire problems arise when I disturb these relays so they need to be completely replaced to ensure future reliability and eliminate them from further diagnosis.
Should be fun!

Hi Dean
I can find a spare height lever quadrant if that would help.

Re: My Citroen XM 3.0 PR-Vestige
I'm guessing the the height correctors would cope with controlling any height selected between lowest and highest.
