Finally I've given the car a bit of a clean up so thought a few pictures might be in order.

Aaaah, I wish mine was as tidy and clean as that one...!

Will, I'd bet u've opened up and cleaned the headlights, (and fogs?), or otherwise, they must be brand new!

Wishes for many, happy miles!!!!!!

Paul,

The RP is 5049 and I recall yours is 495*?? Mine was built on 5th Sept '90 and registered late October '90.

jorgy,
I did swap the headlamp silver bowls and bits as mine were a bit spotty in places. http://www.club-xm.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1463

The car didn't look anywhere near this good when I bought it...hence no pics to date.
The bumper trims were cloudy and very corroded so a replacement front trim, wet sand and polish the rear one and fit ss side trims.
The paintwork had been mopped and from the look of all the swirls he must've used a doormat to do it with. There was no shine and the colour was weak.
The wheel trims were Picasso ones which didn't suit the car so...but these need refurbing as they are a bit dull grey.
The grey plastic mirrors and trims were dull and faded, the rear roof trims were peeling and scratched from the mopping.

I'll be giving the bodywork some more love when I get time...for now I'll concentrate on mechanical bits.

Same colour as mine !, Looks beautiful, that colour realy does suit the car , and looks excellent when polished up like that, :)
As the last post said , it is a real credit to you, very clean interior also, ! i like the early dash lay out, it's a little more quirky, than the more ergonmomic sytle of the later one's..

Lovely examaple. hats off to you ;)

Thanks all.

Steve, I saw Ian's black 2.0i turbo you sold him on Saturday, it was stunning, much better presented than my car. You did a fantastic job on looking after that.

The colour is slightly different to Series 2 metallic red, that is a bit lighter, but not pearlescent, I believe.

My Mk2 is metallic but it has so much grime on it you can only see when the sun is shining on it. Anyone like polishing cars?
